Letter from Olympia

Dear Neighbor,

We have reached the final few days of the 2019 legislative session, and I want to thank my 2019 session staff! They put in many long hours this session ensuring our office ran smoothly. I know they have had the opportunity to interact with many of you who have stopped by or called my office. It was a pleasure to have them on our 25th District legislative team.


Even with record revenue projections from existing sources (surpassing $50 billion for the first time ever) as we move toward the 2019-2021 budgeting period, the majority caucuses in the House and Senate have proposed huge tax increases to pay for their budget proposal. As we await floor action on the majority’s final budget deal in the coming hours, I wanted to update you on some of the tax proposals that are moving through the legislature:
