We recognize that the more students are exposed to and learn how our government works, the better engaged they’ll be not only as a young person, but as an adult.
The Senate approved a bill I sponsored creating a public-private partnership to determine and implement ways to improve access to civic education in our schools. Modeled after a successful financial literacy public-private partnership, this initiative will provide coordination and funding for innovative civics programming with the hope of improving civic literacy in the rising generation of Washingtonians.
